Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

ShiverWhen Grace was younger she was taken from her tire swing and dragged into the woods by a pack of wolves. One wolf saved her from the others and Grace has never forgotten the wolf’s eyes.

In winter, Sam is a wolf with the warmth of spring and summer, he is human. Sam has been in love with Grace since he saw her while working in a bookstore when he was human.

As winter approaches Sam fights to stay human and to be with Grace.

The book is told from both Grace and Sam’s perspectives. Being someone who doesn’t always read the chapter headings, I found it confusing at times.

It took me a while to get into the book and I had a lot going on, which didn’t allow me large chunks of time to read, so I found myself not able to follow the plot at times. There are a few plot holes but overall it was an enjoyable read. A friend of mine described this book as the book you wanted Twilight to be.

The ending definitely makes me want to pick up the next book in the series when it comes out in July 2010.
