Cat Who Saw Stars

The Cat Who Saw Stars by Lilian Jackson Braun
Bryan is in a popular fiction class for school and has to read three mysteries within the next few weeks, so I decided to read a mystery too. I’ve shelved a lot of these books at the library and have also heard from my mom how good they are, so I figured it’s time to check one of them out. It will allow me to see what kind of mysteries my homebound patrons like, since two of them have really enjoyed these books.
January 14 – It took me three days to read the first 12 pages because I was up late with my mom and Bryan while we were visiting my family in Kansas. On the plane rides back from Kansas, I read over 100 pages. Then this morning (Saturday, Jan 14), I read the last 95 pages. It was a quick read and I really enjoyed it. This is the kinds of book that one needs at times, entertaining and a quick read! I loved the cats being main characters in the book. The knitting and spinning references were right on too, Ms. Braun must be a knitter or have friends who spin and knit. When a character refers to a heel flap then you know it’s not just an uneducated reference. I’ve checked out The Cat Who Ate Danish Modern also by Lilian Jackson Braun and Murder She Meowed by Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown to read in the coming week. It’s a bit optimistic but they will hold me until I start my next book group book.
