Assassin

Assassin by Anna Myers
I’d seen this book on the shelf in the Y Books area of the library and the cover always intrigued me. I am one of those people who will read a book just because I like the cover, I’ve found many interesting books that way and a few that haven’t been so great. For the most part I’d say 90% of the books I judge by their cover have been good, this one was one of the good ones. It’s about a seamstress for President Lincoln’s wife in the White House, Bella, who gets involved with John Wilkes Booth. He tries to convince her to help him with a kidnapping of President Lincoln several nights before the assissination of President Lincoln actually took place. It was a fascinating book told from Bella’s and John Wilkes Booth’s point of views. Definitely a quick read. In my first sitting I managed to read the first 75 pages.
