Reduced Circumstances

At The Villa of Reduced Circumstances by Alexander McCall Smith
20 June 2005 – I enjoyed this but I wouldn’t consider this to be one of my favorites.
9 June 2005 – My grandfather is always raving about the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency books by Alexander McCall Smith, so I thought I would check one of them out from the library. I asked Bryan to bring one home from the library and he brought this one home. I started to listen to it in the car on my way to work yesterday. It’s really good. It took me a bit to get all of the characters straight with their long names but once I realized I don’t have to keep everyone straight just the main character, Professor Dr. Mortiz-Maria von Igelfeld. The book definitely has a level of humor that doesn’t hit you in the face like a lot of “funny” books do. This is more of an intellectual humor, if such humor exists. As I get further in to the book, I’ll write more.
